so near so far

The stones in a wall develop into hatching as the camera slides along them. This forms the intro to animal observations starting with pigeons proudly claiming their territory. A great ape that has grown old in the zoo and is obviously conforting itself with candy appears after one sees an emptied pond, furrowed with traces of the original inhabitants. To recognize which ones remain to be seen one would have to be a tracker… less contemplative, the fertilisation dance of dragonflies that have just developed a special choreography.  Theater, illusion or just something that easily hides from our eyes. Finally, the pigeon, static on the rooftop, is made of zinc not plastic like the duck by the pond before. This gets me out of the idyll, slowly but surely. So near so far.
